QWhat does Microfibre mean?
Microbfibre technologies involve thousands of tiny woven threads that are 1/100th the size of human hair, which act like tiny hooks that absorb dirt and moisture and lock it away. Dust, dirt and direct particles are bonded to the Microfibre and are not released until the material is washed in water; thus they are not pushed around or transferred from surface to surface while cleaning.
QWhat is Antibacterial treatment?
Antibacterial treatment works by inhibiting the reproduction and growth of bacteria and fungi, which helps reduce the growth of germs and odours within a product. This formula remains active for some time promoting freshness and helping extend the product life by attacking the very source of a universal problem - bacteria, fungi, and other destructive micro-organisms, helping eliminate odours rather than just masking them.
Many of the Oates® DuraFresh® products that contain antibacterial properties are endorsed by Ultra-FreshTM. Ultra-FreshTM is a registered trademark of Thomson Research Associates Inc. This provides a guarantee to consumers of excellence in antimicrobial protection.
Note: Performance of antibacterial additive is dependent on environment and frequency of usage. To be used in conjunction with good hygiene practices.
QWhat is HACCP?
After rigorous internal testing by Oates®, many products in the range are also submitted to a third party for assessment and endorsement of material safety, accuracy and appropriateness in a food application. This is issued by an independent organisation of food safety experts, called HACCP. HACCP Australia Food Safety Accreditation provides a recognised endorsement that is an assurance to the
industry and provides a guarantee to consumers a product’s suitability for use within a food related environment. Oates® HACCP approved products have been tested and accredited to deliver to following attributes:
- Well designed with ‘food-safe’ characteristics
- Non toxic (or appropriate levels of toxicity)
- Easy to clean (or appropriate for use)
- Likely to reduce the risk of any form of contamination
- Designed for a low consequence of error in use
QWhy is it important to use different coloured cleaning products for different areas?
The use of different coloured cleaning products helps to reduce the risk of cross-contamination between different area. Thus germs collected while cleaning one area such as the bathroom are not transferred to the kitchen for example. Oates® offers an extensive range of colour coded products and is one of the leaders in the education of this issue. We support the standard set by the industry of:
- Blue for General Cleaning
- Red for Bathroom Areas
- Green for Kitchens
- Yellow for Infectious Areas
- White for Operating Theatres.
However, you can choose any colour system you wish as long as you keep it consistent and you remember the colours you have chosen for each area to help avoid the risk of cross-contamination between areas.
